Claudine Orchard's Obituary
Claudine Auerbach Orchard passed from this life Sunday, June 20, 2010, in a Longview, TX hospital. The funeral will be held at the chapel of Paschal Funeral Home in Kerens, TX at ten a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Kerens.
She was born on December 14, 1918, in Richland, Texas to Charles and Effie Belle Lewis Auerbach. Claudine married Jim Orchard on November 10, 1938, in Houston. During their 71 years of marriage, the couple lived in Alamo, TX, Wasco, CA and Longview, TX. Most of their retirement was spent in Corsicana were she was member of the Emanuel Baptist Church and worked as a Librarian. They recently returned to Longview. Claudine was a loving and devoted wife and mother and worked tirelessly for her parents and other family members when they needed help and care.
Claudine was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Charlene Massey; three brothers, Larry, Don, and Buster Auerbach and grandson Adam Orchard. She is survived by her husband; sister Juanita Nowlin of Palestine; two sons and daughters-in law Jim and Eunice Orchard of Houston, TX, Don and Annette Orchard of Longview, TX; seven grandchildren Alison Orchard, Amy Corron, Charles Orchard, Deanna Simmons , Mike Orchard, Cynthia Orchard and David Orchard; 4 great grandchildren Camryn Corron, Rachael Simmons, Kristen Orchard and Kyle Orchard.
