Claudia Murrel Alders' Obituary
Claudia Murrel Alders, age 86, of Longview, TX passed away peacefully on September 19, 2022. Murrel was born on April 13, 1936, in Longtown, Missouri. She was a graduate of Hallsville High School. She was employed with Southwestern Bell for 33 years and retired at the age of 51 in 1988. Murrel worked in several different childcare facilities as a teacher, director, and manager until she decided to hit the roads and become known as our “Road Runner.”
Murrel will be remembered for her caring heart and her contagious generosity towards others. She loved singing, spending time with her family, the Bible, traveling, casinos, reading mystery novels and studying metaphysics. She had a heart of gold, and it was obvious to all that came to know her. She will be dearly missed by everyone, and we will continue to keep her memory alive as we celebrate all the memories, we shared with her.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Sandra Warren, Vicki Anderson, and Neta Wallace along with her only son, Larry Francis and wife Sherry; her sister, Betty Jo Polk; her grandchildren and their spouses Angela and Michael Smith, Shane and Carrie Ford, Brandon and Paula Francis, Shanna and Cody Howard, and Kevin and Brittany Woody. Murrel also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren: Ashton, Mia, Madden, Emma, Kohen, Kelsyn, and 1 great-great grandchild that will be here in December, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A service celebrating Murrel’s life will be held at 12 Noon Monday, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with burial following at Grover Cemetery near Marshall.
Following the interment, the family will be hosting a late lunch for family and close friends at the Howard’s Home, 440 Private Road 1104, Diana, TX 75640.
