Clarence Glenn Southerland's Obituary
Services for Glenn Southerland, 77, of Hallsville will be Thursday December 10, 2009 at 2:00pm at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview with Roy Whitehurst officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday December 9th from 6pm to 8pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
Mr. Southerland passed away Tuesday morning at his residence with his family by his side. Glenn was born May 4, 1932 in Marshall, Texas to Clarence I. Southerland and Gertrude Ledlow. He was self employed and avid workaholic who enjoyed keeping busy but never to busy to be with his family. He loved working on his tractors, and his oil and gas wells. He was an ambitious inventor and tinker. Mr. Southerland enjoyed raising deer and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary; sons, Travis and his wife Pat, Sidney; daughter Glenda and her husband Ronnie Hallonquist; sister, Evelyn and her husband Roy Whitehurst; brother, Vic and his wife Betty; grandsons, Richard, Daniel, Justin, Mike, Bryan, and Ricky; granddaughters, Stephanie, Teresa and Amanda and numerous great grand children and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; sisters, Vivian Trice and Raydale Smith and his parents.
Pallbearers are Jason Bunzel, Tom McCool, Richard Hurlburt, Randy Spence, Justin Hallonquist, Richard Southerland, and James Kuler. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Heartsway Hospice.
