Clare Mary Hoefer's Obituary
Clare Mary Hoefer, 84, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2015, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 25, 1931 in Salina, KS to Dr. B.A. and Margaret Brungardt, the 8th of 19 children. She graduated from Marymount College in Salina with a degree in nursing and married Raymond Hoefer on December 28, 1959. Clare was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Longview, TX. She worked for Dr. Jim Bethea for 20 plus years in Longview.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; 3 daughters, Lisa Nealon (husband Chris), Stephanie Webb (husband Ken), and Mary Guilliams (husband David); 3 sons, Chris Hoefer (wife Cari), Kevin Hoefer (wife Danetta), and Bobby Hoefer (wife Cindy) and special great-grandchild, Taylor; 4 brothers, Father Al Brungardt of Victoria, KS, Paul Brungardt of Battle Creek, NE, Mike Brungardt of Baldwin, KS, and Tony Brungardt of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Katie Muhammad, Megan Gore, Tony Gore, Matthew Webb, Stephen Webb, Christina Hoefer, Caitlin Guilliams, and Joseph Guilliams; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Clare was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. B.A. and Margaret Brungardt, Several brothers and sisters, and her great grandchild Michaelyn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 1pm, officiated by her nephew, Bishop John Brungardt. A rosary will be said an hour before Mass. Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Clare was a longtime supporter of Catholic education; the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Mary’s Catholic School, Longview TX, or your favorite charity in Clare’s name in lieu of flowers.
