Clara Fay Baughman's Obituary
Clara Fay Crim Baughman, 92, of Henderson, loving wife, mother, and grandmother went home to be with her heavenly Father and her beloved Husband, and Mama and Daddy after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s on March 26, 2015 with her family by her side. Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015, from 12:30 to 2:00 at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas. Services will follow at 2:00 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bill Kuykendall and Rev. Johnny Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens.
Clara was born August 21, 1922, in New London, Texas, the daughter of R. Sanford and Carrie O’Quinn Crim.
At about the age of nine, Clara moved with her parents and siblings from New London, Texas to Henderson, Texas where she lived the rest of her life. Clara graduated from Henderson High School and Kilgore Jr. College, where she met and later married the love of her life, William E. Baughman (Billie Gene) on September 26, 1944. Clara loved the Lord and raised her three children to love Him. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Henderson.
Clara never worked outside the home, choosing to stay home with her children, nurturing them and constantly showing them love. She enjoyed cooking, raking the leaves, swinging with her children and grandchildren in the wooden swing in the backyard, going on trips with her husband and children, walking around the block, and relaxing in her glider on the back porch. She especially enjoyed visiting the old plantation homes of the south, driving through the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee, and looking for gold in Arizona and New Mexico after Billy Gene retired. She also loved teaching herself the art of oil painting. Her children have pictures painted by her on their walls today.
Clara is survived by her son, Mark Baughman and wife, Karen, of Henderson; daughters, Carmen Baughman Hudson and husband, Reggie, of Nacogdoches; and Sherrie Baughman Owens and husband, Dennis, of Henderson; grandchildren, Clint Baughman, Ashley Stanley, Josh Baughman, Michelle Turner, Heather Eddins, Trenton Owens, and Hannah Owens; and twelve great grandsons, Derek and Reese Baughman; Aidan, Ethan, and Eli Stanley; Parker Hedlund; Taylor, Timothy, Trevor, Thadd, and Thane Turner; and Kaleb Eddins. Also, many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 ½ years, William E. Baughman; her father and mother, R. Sanford and Carrie O’Quinn Crim; brother, Ralph Crim; sisters, Lois Skinner, and twin, Ann Crim.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.
