Clara Velma Barclay's Obituary
Memorial Services for Clara Velma “G.G.” Barclay, age 93 of Henderson, will be held Saturday February 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home. With Rev. Michael Cary officiating Family visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Mrs. Barclay was born May 27, 1925 in Winsor, CO to Cecil and Myrtle Wilson and passed away February 13, 2019. She grew up in Lavern, OK and moved to Perryton, TX where she met her husband Roy B. Barclay. They married December 10, 1945 and later moved to Gray, OK where they raised five children and then returned to Perryton. She spent many years running the rural telephone company switch board in Gray OK, worked in retail for several years and retired. She moved to Henderson, TX and volunteered with the Henderson Hospital Auxiliary. Clara loved quilting, music, and singing. She enjoyed studying the Bible, various outdoor activities which included camping, fishing, and gardening. She was very adventurous and loved to try new things.
She is preceeded in death by her husband of 47 years and three daughters, Rebecca Uloth, Ramona Cook, and Patricia Pauls. She is survived by two children Roy Leon Barclay of Henderson, TX and Nita J Christy of Henderson, TX, and several grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
