Cinda Farrell's Obituary
Cinda Elizabeth Farrell
Just a closer walk with Thee. Grant it Jesus, is my plea. Daily walking close to Thee. Let it be, dear Lord, let it be…
Beloved wife, mother, Nana, family member, and friend, Cinda Elizabeth Farrell walked healed and whole into the arms of Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer on January 30, 2015.
She was born to Willie “Bill” Wade and Evelyn “Ami” Amiteen Harbour on December 29, 1953. She graduated from Ysleta High School in 1972, Lubbock Christian University in 1974, and Stephen F. Austin State University in 1977. She served as a Director at Region 7 Education Service Center for many years. She met the love of her life, Charles Joseph Farrell, and they married on May 24, 1974. Cinda became a coach’s wife and Coach Farrell’s #1 fan in the stands. You could always hear her proudly cheering on his teams to victory with her homemade, handcrafted noisemakers.
A faithful follower of Christ, loving servant, and devout church member, Cinda walked through life as a radiant light that could not be ignored by those she encountered. Her home was always open to guests, although the moment you walked through the door you became family and never once felt unwelcome. With her beautiful blue eyes, contagious smile, and sweet spirit you knew you were in the presence of a genuinely compassionate encourager and friend.
Cinda was a church member at Alpine Church of Christ in Longview, Texas, where she used her incredible gift of teaching to lead Bible studies and serve as a mentor and prayer warrior. Her legacy of faith echoes 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Cinda was preceded in death by her father, Bill Harbour. She is celebrated by her sister Bonnie Hendricks; brother, David Harbour; children Christy and Adam Norton, Charla and Jared Stark, Cody Farrell, Clayton and Amanda Farrell, Clinton and Jenna Farrell; grandchildren Kinzie Norton, Jackson Norton, Kaycin Farrell, Blaze Norton, Madilyn Farrell, Wade Farrell, Brady Norton, Everson Stark, Luke Farrell, Londyn Farrell and Jordyn Beth Norton.
Visitation for Cinda Elizabeth Farrell will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 2-4 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Alpine Church of Christ, Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10 A.M. Graveside services will be held in Martinsville, Texas following the service.
Well done, good and faithful servant. You are His favorite, and now you are home.
