Christopher Eugene Thompson's Obituary
Funeral services for Christopher Eugene Thompson of Longview, will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, July 1 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, Texas 75601 with Reverend David English officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour prior to the service. Chris was born on February 8, 1963 in Irving, Texas and passed away on June 26, 2015 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview.
Chris was a member of the First Baptist Church in Longview where he was baptized at the age of 9. He attended Kilgore College, Sam Houston State University and the University of Texas at Tyler, and spent four years in the US Navy abroad the USS John F. Kennedy Aircraft Carrier. After leaving the navy he returned to Longview, Texas where he joined the family business.
He is survived by his loving mother and step father, Sarah and Clyde Woolsey, brother Craig Woolsey and wife Nadine, nephew and niece Callan and Hannah Woolsey, all of Longview; brothers Bryan and Colby Thompson of Jacksboro, Texas and sister Cathy Haynes as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Eugene Thompson of Jacksboro, Texas.
He was blessed with many lifelong friends and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Carl Earnest, Dr. Yu, Dr. Nayini, Dr. Scott, and the nurses, technicians and staff at Good Shepherd for their loving care.
