SSG Christopher Cody Fields' Obituary
Funeral services for SSG Christopher Cody Fields, 32, of Temple, Texas, formerly of Longview, will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 11, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church in Gladewater with Pastor David McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Christopher was born on June 29, 1983 in Longview, Texas to Rusty and Lois Fields. He joined the Army in 2001 and proudly served our country. SSG Fields was a “soldier’s soldier” who served 4 deployments. He loved what he did and loved his Army buddies. Christopher loved his family and loved spending time with them. He had a special bond with his brothers that will always be remembered. He loved serving people in any way that he could, and was always up for helping friends and family fix anything that needed fixing. He loved football, golf, and anything to do with trucks, but above all else, he loved his wife and children most of all.
Christopher was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Chad Fields, in 1998; and by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane Fields and their sons Christopher Gage and William Isaac Fields; his parents, Rusty and Lois Fields; his brothers and sisters-in-law Roy and Koti Starks and Casey and Shannon Fields; nieces, Rainen Starks, Mylie Bunton and Mackenzie Bunton; his brother-in-law Bryan Richard Jarolim; his cousin Devin Hodges and his wife Amanda and their children Myles and Madyson; and several other cousins.
