Christian G. Leopold's Obituary
Military graveside services for Christian Leopold, 78, of Longview, will be 2:15 PM Monday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas with Reverend John Hart officiating. Rader Funeral Home of Longview in charge of services.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Friday at Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
Mr. Leopold died Tuesday in a local nursing facility.
A native of Mansfield, Louisiana, he was born June 10, 1924 and had lived in San Antonio for several years and in Longview area for the past 20 years. Mr. Leopold gradu-ated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio and he attended Tulane University and graduated from the University of Texas Pharmacy School. He was a registered pharmacist having worked for Louis Morgan Drug, Longview and K&B Drug in Marshall, TX. Mr. Leopold served his country during World War II in the US Army infantry in Europe where he received numerous medals including the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife: Eunice of Longview; Sons and daughters in law: Tom and Janet Leopold of San Antonio and Mark and DeAnna Leopold of Dallas; Daughter: Lisa Gregory of San Antonio; Grandchildren: Callie, James and Sterling Leopold of San Antonio, Alicia and husband Josh Marooney of San Antonio, Lauren and husband Eli Muniz of San Antonio and Ryan Gregory of San Antonio. Great Grandson: Shane Muniz of San Antonio. Step Daughters: Glenda Shuttlesworth and husband J. R. of San Antonio, Carolyn Raney and husband Ken of Dallas; Step grandchildren: Dana and husband Jonathan Johnson of Wichita, KN, Robert Shuttlesworth of League City, K. C. Raney of Waco and Claire Raney of Houston; Sister: Beverly Jarmon of San Antonio. Three nephews.
Memorials may be made to Greater Hospice of Longview or favorite church or charity.
