Chris Williams
Funeral services for Chris Williams, 78, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Dr. Jonathan Bynum officiating. Burial will follow in Alpine Cemetery. She entered into heaven on Saturday, May 3, while in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Williams was born August 18, 1929 in Paducah, TX to Woodrow and Minnie Taylor and had been a longtime resident of Longview. She was the retired owner/operator of "The Casual Corner", a local women's clothing store. She also worked in retail sales in various other retail stores in the Longview area. She attended Kilgore College and was a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Longview Story League, Beta Sigma Phi, and a lifetime member of the Judson P.T.A.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, B. G. Williams; and her brother, J. L. Taylor.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Bill Williams of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Tim Rogers of Longview and Claire and Kevin Koonce of White Oak; grandchildren, Ryan Rogers and fiancé Rebekah Neyland of Longview and Haley Koonce of White Oak; nieces, Carrie Waters, Linda Gordan and Brenda Morphew; and nephew, Mike Taylor.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the Staff of Pine Tree Lodge Nursing Home for the excellent care of Mrs. Williams over the last seven years.
