Chester Taylor HIcks' Obituary
Chester Taylor Hicks Chet Hicks departed on his final trip on April 14, 2007 from Hospice of East Texas Home Place in Tyler.
Chet was born September 20, 1929 in the Oak Hill Community near
Broken Bow Oklahoma to Wallace Taylor and Gatha Morgan Hicks.
He was a graduate of Broken Bow High School. He earned his engineering degree from Oklahoma A&M in 1951. He did postgraduate work at
Tulsa University, Texas Christian University, and the University of Texas.
He worked for Spartan and Douglas Aircraft, General Dynamics, and
retired from the Anderson Hickey Company of Henderson. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Henderson. He served
for over 50 years as a deacon and elder in the Presbyterian Church.
He was Clerk of the Session for the Overton Presbyterian Church for ten years.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Hicks of Henderson, sons Richard
Eugene Hicks, and Russell Morgan Hicks both of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Grandson Corbin Hicks, and surrogate son Frankie Astorga.
Brother The Rev. J.C. Hicks and wife Mildred of Lookeba Ok.
Internment will follow a 4:00pm family graveside at Rusk County Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday April 16, 2007 under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home of Henderson A Celebration of Chet?s life and resurrecton will be held 3:00pm Tuesday April 17, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in Henderson with the Rev. Steve Beatty officiating.
