Cheryl Ann Stevenson's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Cheryl Ann Stevenson
January 17, 1958 – August 28, 2025
Cheryl Ann Stevenson, a beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, and devoted animal advocate, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and savior at home on Lake Cherokee in Longview, Texas, on Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was 67 years old.
Born on January 17, 1958, in Houston, Texas, to Marilyn Elaine Ray-Rine; Cheryl grew up in Lufkin, Texas and lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and quiet strength.
She was a proud graduate of Kilgore College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Legal Assistant/Paralegal Studies. Cheryl worked in various industries, including banking, and multiple law offices throughout her career and went on to serve as Paralegal and Office Manager for the Law Offices of Bradley T. Steele and Joe R. Green for the last 25 years, where she was known for her professionalism, integrity, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to her work.
Cheryl’s love for animals was a defining part of her life. She worked with numerous rescue organizations over the years, fostering countless dogs and providing them with care, comfort, and a safe place to grow and heal before they were adopted into loving homes. Her own home was a sanctuary for animals in need, as evidenced by the menagerie of pets she owned and lovingly cared for. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched, both human and animal, as evidence of those who came to visit her at her home over the past few weeks to show her the same compassion she gave them during her lifetime.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Ronald D. Stevenson; her stepdaughter, Michelle Stevenson; her stepson, David Stevenson and wife Sissy; and her cherished granddaughter Alli Stevenson and boyfriend Davin Turner; and adored granddaughter Maci Stevenson; and her cousins Sheila Shinn and husband Steve, Mike Hodges and wife Anna, Donald Hodges, and Claire Jo Hodges.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Elaine Ray-Rine, and her grandmother, Hattie Ray, who raised her.
Cheryl’s family and friends were her greatest joy, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, gentle spirit, fierce compassion, and unwavering love will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
