It’s been three years and five & one-half months since Cherry started REAL living, that is, going to her true home in the very presence of our Lord, Savior, Creator and King of all. But somehow, it seems like she’s just a phone call away.

I really miss my big sister. But, I wouldn’t want her back. I’m SO happy that God chose to take her from us and bring her to Him. I’m SO happy for Cherry Gayle.

Out of so many memories, emotions and thoughts, one thing stood out. Cherry loved, cherished and ACCEPTED me no matter what. Always. (That was God, the Holy Spirit, in her, no doubt!)

I was one of Cherry first friends when she moved to Longview. Although we lost track of each other the last few years I still considered her as my friend. I was greatly shocked hearing of her passing, and I know she will greatly missed by family and friends. I urge everyone to keep in touch with family and friends. I have an empty filling knowing that I wasn't there for Cherry in her final days.

Cherry and I "met" over the Internet through a word game. We cautiously began "chatting" and soon became Facebook friends. We shared our love for Jesus and family. I was so excited for her when she became a grandma and loved seeing pictures and posts about her beautiful family, and she about mine. I also very much admired her parents from the things I learned about them through Facebook. I have been so sad over this and can't even imagine how you all must feel. Cherry and I never met in person in this life but I look forward to meeting her in heaven some day.
