Charlotte McCrary 's Obituary
Charlotte Scott Simpson-McCrary, 78, of Hallsville, Tx completed her earthly journey on May 8, 2018 surrounded by her family in her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Charlotte was born on May 4, 1941 in Gilmer, Texas to Daryl and Mildred Simpson. She was a 1959 Graduate of Hallsville High School. After graduating she went to BMI College studying Accounting and Business. Later she got her degree in Wichita Falls for Legal Secretary, while she was working for a Law Firm and going to school at night.
When Charlotte was in High School, she met Bobby McCrary and they got married on September 26, 1959. As husband and wife, they spent 58 years together until Charlotte’s death. Bobby and Charlotte worked together in many ventures. They were owners of Big M Construction and McCrary Heavy Haul Trucking. Bobby and Charlotte also raised Longhorn cattle. Thru her education and experience she had vast knowledge and interest innumerous subjects. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church for many years and was friends with several women in the Sunday School Class. She always motivated and encouraged others by living a life of service to them and spreading joy with her dry humor. Her family was the source of her strength. Being a very loving wife and mother, she was her husband’s and her family’s hero. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she has touched. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Bobby McCrary; daughter Vicki Lynn Montgomery and husband Boone of Hallsville, Texas; Granddaughter Rheanna Weideman, and grandson Chris Montgomery both of Hallsville, Texas; one great-grandson KiaMan Shoemake of Hallsville; her caretaker for many years, Tina DeShields; her loving mother Mildred Bishop and sisters Gayle Josephson of Longview, Texas and Kim Harvey and husband Roland of Mineral Wells, Texas; brother in law, Billy McCrary and wife Sandy of Longview, Texas; sister in law Mary Lou Wilson and husband Mark, of Tenaha, Texas; and her caring helpers, hospice aid Shardae’ McAlister and nurse Amanda Joyner.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Heart to Heart Hospice and the entire staff for all of their help in the last few years of Charlotte’s journey to meet her Lord and Savior.
A Celebration of Life for Charlotte will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Tx. With Homer Stout officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation at Rader Funeral Home in Longview from 5-7 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2018.
Pallbearers are Dan Stout, James Miles Smith, Tim Erickson, Dane Foster, Brandy Foster, Joe Boy Duncan. Alternate Pallbearers are C.T. Coleman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Macedonia Baptist Church. Please leave online condolences here on the website.
