Charles (Charlie) Preston Teague, Jr.
May 29, 1931 – February 13, 2021
Charles (Charlie) Preston Teague, Jr., 89, of Spring, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2021 at Houston Northwest Medical Center, Houston, Texas from complications of an automobile accident.
Charlie was born on May 29, 1931 in Wink , Texas, the 11th child of the late Charles Preston Teague and Virgie Viola Rhymes.
Charlie graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1950 and enjoyed playing football and track. After serving his country and an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force in 1957, he moved to Houston where he married the love of his life, Patsy (Pat) Elizabeth McLendon. For most of his working life, Charlie was extremely gifted in sales with Metal Goods Corporation and CPI Sales. In 1986 he ventured on his own and established Teamco Corp. with Pat. His son, Larry soon joined the team in the wire cloth screen business. Charlie always connected with people exceedingly well and developed many long-standing business relationships in his field. The phrase “never met a stranger” truly describes his personality and he absolutely loved telling jokes plus receiving new ones. He will be deeply missed and remembered by his children, grandchildren, numerous family members plus many personal and business friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, as well and his 10 siblings; Bernetta (Nettie) Ball, Leona Harmon, Wilburn (Mack) Teague, Will Teague, Rose Moore, Christine Spencer, Peggy Scarborough, Russell Teague, Dorothy Danchik and Walter Teague. His wife, Patsy (Pat) Elizabeth McLendon also preceded him in death in 2016. Sister-in-law, Marjorie McLendon Lile preceded in death 2019.
He is survived by his children Pam Mt. Joy (late husband, Ray); and Larry Teague and wife, Lang. Grandchildren Tyler Mt. Joy and Michelle Vuong-Gibson, Allison and Will Teague.
Charlie is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A memorial and internment service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00 am, Rosewood Park Mausoleum and Cemetery, 1884 FM 1844-Seven Pines Road, Longview, Texas 75605.
