Charlie Elton Harkins
Funeral services for Charlie Elton Harkins, 36, of Ore City, a former longtime resident of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Spanhanks officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Bear Creek Cemetery, Linden, Texas under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Saturday, June 23, in a Dallas hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Charlie was born September 2, 1970 in Longview and was a lifetime resident of Longview. He was a 1989 graduate of Pine Tree High School and attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. He graduated from the Kilgore College School of Nursing and was a paramedic with Champion EMS in Longview.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Harkins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, LaVerne Harkins of Longview; wife, Nicole Harkins and twin daughters, Sommer and Alexis Harkins of Longview; sisters, Becky Harkins Sprayberry and Wes Blalack, twin sister, Charlotte Greene and husband Toby, Angela Harkins Rothacher and husband Cody, all of Longview; nieces and nephews, Derek, Julia and Alyssa Green, Miesa and Rylon Rothacher, and Jeremy and Todd Harkins; sister-in-law, Kathy Harkins of Longview.
