Dear Nona and family: so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing and that I was not able to come to his service. I have moved to Buckner and after surgery was not approved to drive by the doctor. You have however been in my prayers. I have fine memories of our fun times at all events connected with Coach Stewart's tournaments that you and Chuck worked so hard to provide for us all. We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Chuck. He was always a true friend to us--mom Sandra and dad Rink, brother Cap, and sister Sherry; We considered Chuck and Winona and the kids to be a part of our extended family. We enjoyed so many fun get-togethers and shared lots of laughter and a few tears. Some of the more memorable get-togethers included cook outs, barbeques, and making homemade ice cream in the summertime. When our house caught fire, we drove to Chuck and Winona's for help and comfort. Sherry had the chicken pox, which she passed on to the boys. And we had quite a memorable visit to Padre Island when it was the last of the "unspoiled beaches." Camping out was a new experience, and it was not one that we repeated after sandstorms, gritty sleeping bags, and really bad sunburns. Still, we remember that trip fondly.
We never saw Chuck without a big smile on his face, and he always wanted to know what was going on. The last time we saw him, he wanted to get up and come into the den for a visit, even if only for a few minutes.
We loved Chuck and will miss him. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

One of the finest men I ever met. Always had a smile and a kind word when you saw him. Between the golf course and the bowling alley he played a roll in many a young persons life and we were the better for it. My condolences to his family.
I am truly thankful to have know Coach for all these years. He lived a life full of smiles & true Christian fellowship. He never failed to ask how I was doing or how my team was playing. I will miss seeing him @ at the Divine 9 playing with his buddies, but that is how I will remember him, smile and clubs ready to play. Many Blessings to Mike & family.
Chuck was one of those rare individuals that you never forget as a person, nor forget what they did for you. Besides playing golf at Alpine, Chuck gave my sons the opportunity for their first paying job. It is a rare person that will hire twin boys at the same time, but he was more than willing. They soon became one of the numerous "Alpine Boys" that had the privilege to work at the course over the many, many years. They still talk about the things they experienced both at the course and at the Target Golf Center. Boys can learn a lot about life washing carts and walking around picking up rocks and carrying a five gallon bucket! Our sincerest condolences to Mike and the entire Williams family.

My condolences to the Williams Family. I had the privilege of knowing Chuck for over 40 years. Chuck never met a stranger and was kind to everyone. I knew Chuck best from my association with his son Mike participating together on the Longview High School golf team and later I got to know Chuck better as a regular customer at Alpine Golf Course. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

There's a HUGE hole in my life right now. Chuck Williams was my friend. More than that, he was always available for advice and mentoring, or when I just needed someone to talk to. He gave my youngest son, Benjamin, his first job, washing carts. He helped him learn to play and love the game of golf. I'll never forget Chuck telling me, after Benjamin had gone out to Alpine for the SECOND time to ask for a job, that he had told Ben the first time that he really didn't need any help right then, but that after coming the second time, Ben told Chuck, "Mr. Williams, I'll work for you for free, if you'll let me play golf!" Chuck told me he didn't need the help, but that any kid with enough brass to work for free, he was going to find a place to put him. Chuck gave Ben a job washing carts for $50/month, and free golf. My son is an outstanding golfer today, and it began with Chuck Williams and his heart for kids. I'll miss you Chuck. Thanks for the memories.
I was real lucky to have partner up in a choose up with Chuck , I got to drive the
cart afterwards he told me that he would not ever ride with me again that I drove like a maniac, going to miss him.
