Charles Wayne Charlie Palmer's Obituary
Charles Wayne Charlie Palmer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11th in Longview with his loving wife by his side.
Charlie was born Jan 30, 1953 at Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL to Glenn Ivan Palmer, Sr. and Marion Spicer Palmer.
Charlie graduated from Roosevelt High School in San Antonio in 1971, and Baylor University in 1975 with a B.A. in Communications. He worked as a DJ at various radio stations in Nacogdoches, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, Amarillo and Longview, as well as for the City of Longview, and later for the U.S. Postal Service East Texas Processing and Distribution Center in Tyler, TX for 16 years until the time of his death. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, Longview.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn & Marion, and his favorite aunt, Elva Pool, all of Mings Chapel.
Survived by the love of his life and wife of 21 years, Brenda Palmer of Longview, cherished daughter Tara Breeland and her boyfriend Daniel Southam, the light of his life, granddaughter Ella Breeland-DeFauw, and her father Dave DeFauw, all of Shreveport, LA, as well as his brother Glenn I. Palmer, Jr. of Nacogdoches, and cousin Ann Starkey and her husband Lester of Mt. Vernon, TX. Charlie also leaves behind special friends and co-workers, and beloved pets Elvis, Maks, and Abbey.
Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 10am at Rader Funeral Home in Longview with interment to follow at Dollahite Cemetery in Hallsville.
