Charles R. Vails' Obituary
Charles R. Vails, 74, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. He was born to Charles L. and Lou Allie Hanson Vails on August 28, 1943. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1981 after 20 years’ service. After retirement, he worked for General Cable Company in Scottsville, Texas as an industrial electrician.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Ann Coker Vails; one son, Ray and wife Peggy of Benbrook, TX; three daughters, Teresa Vails of Pontotoc, Cindy Underwood of Copperas Cove, TXD, Lorie Murphy and husband Tracy of Saltillo; five grandchildren, Jonathan Underwood, Patrick Underwood and wife Victoria, Brandi Murphy Giroux and husband Danny, Courtney Murphy and wife Magen, and Angie Vails; five great grandchildren, Marlee Seawright, Chase Seawright, Jayla Underwood, Charli Little and Raiden Underwood; one brother, Wayne Vails and wife Jeanie of Saltillo.
Per his request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
