Charles Ed Ray's Obituary
Charles Ed Ray was born April 1, 1923 to Clarence and LV Ray in Breckinridge, TX. Services will be held at the Macedonia Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 10 am with Reverend John Wallingford officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Ray passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015.
Before serving in the Military, He worked in Ft. Worth and in California helping to build airplanes. He served in the Army in WW II. It was then he met Sophie Pawlak. Following his discharge in 1945 from Army Air Force 1118 MP Company, and his return to the United States he again returned to Belguim to marry Sophie. They came back to the States. They had three children Sonja Lee, Charles Ed Jr. and Joyce Marie. Sophie passed away in 1971.On November 22, 1972 he and Ruby Lea Cooper were married. Charles worked for several sheet metal companies, but his main employment was Trailmobile where he worked for 26 years, then for Stemco as a security guard.
He loved serving and praising Jesus his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Ruby Lea, his daughter and son-in-law Sonja and Robert McFarland; Son and daughter-in-law Charles, Jr. and wife Becky Ray; daughter Joyce and husband John Cravens; step son Gene Cooper and wife Betty; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
