Charles Patrick Quinn Jr.'s Obituary
Charles was born September 22, 1927, in Ft. Worth, TX to Charles Partick and Stella Quinn. He attended North Side High in Ft. Worth; service in the US Navy in 1945-46 and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Charles retired from Texas Eastman and Kodak after 30 years of service. He was a past member of the American Society for Testing & materials, The Society of Plastics Engineers, and the American Chemical Society. Charles was a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and had served as a deacon and elder, taught Sunday school, delivered meals on wheels and was a board member of Longview Community Ministries while a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was past Chancellor Commander of Pythian Lodge 26.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Brandon Quinn, and wife Paula; daughter Donna Layman and husband Larry; grandchildren Kimberly Bruce and husband Mark, and Jarred Quinn; great grandchildren are Isabella Reagh and Robert Reagh. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Patsy Marlene Sessums Quinn; his parents Charles Patrick Quinn and Stella Mae Quinn; and his sister Marion Murrah.
Mr. Quinn enjoyed the great outdoors while working with trees and was a long-time member of the American Tree Farm System. His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, photography, rock collecting, and metal detecting. His favorite alma mater college and football team by far was Texas A&M. He loved his family and always looked forward to seeing grandchildren and great grandchildren. Going to Caddo Lake and eating at Big Pines Lodge was an outing he always looked forward to.
