Charles Norwood's Obituary
Charles E Norwood, the second son of Roy D. & Elinor M. Norwood, died in his home Saturday morning, Oct. 10, 2009. Charles was born a fifth generation Texan in Dallas, TX on May 1, 1939. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra Lindsey Norwood; his daughter Lauri Norwood; two sons, Todd Norwood and Brent Norwood and his wife Amy; two grandchildren, Ansley and Layton Norwood; his brother, Kenneth Norwood and his wife Mary; a niece and nephew, Meredith and David: Longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Longview, Charles coached soccer, baseball, and basketball. He enjoyed sports, the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, hunting, and fishing. Charles also volunteered at LIHN Mission Team and Terrific Tuesday.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and older brother, David. Charles was loved greatly and will be missed by his family and friends. A visitation will be held Monday, October 12, 2009 at Rader Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday October 13, at First United Methodist Church in Longview. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery.
