Charles Kenneth Hargrove's Obituary
Charles Kenneth Hargrove was born on October 30, 1943, in Waco, Texas, and passed from this life on May 25, 2026, in Kilgore, Texas.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Frances Hargrove and G.W. Hargrove.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda Hargrove; his children, Chad Hargrove (Jacki) and Shannon Smith; five grandchildren, Samuel Smith (Ella), Joshua Smith, Rachel Smith, Abigail Smith, and Brayden Hargrove; and one great-grandson, Sage Smith. Kenneth is also survived by his sisters, Jeri Bowles (Chuck) and Jill Muhl (James).
Ken graduated from Mart High School, where he developed a lifelong love for Mart Panther football. He later earned his degree from Sam Houston State University and spent many years working as an investigator for various law firms throughout East Texas.
Known for his happy heart and warm spirit, Ken treasured the relationships he built with neighbors, family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who rarely missed an opportunity to support his children and grandchildren in their activities. He delighted in chasing his grandchildren—and often the neighborhood children as well—bringing laughter, joy, and energy wherever he went.
One thing was certain throughout Ken’s life: he was always on the move. Lynda loved finding new homes and transforming them through her decorating talents, and Ken never quite knew which attic or closet his belongings might occupy from one move to the next. Through it all, he embraced every adventure with good humor and never stood in the way of Lynda's next great idea and always supported her passions and dreams.
Ken's hobbies included fishing, working in the yard, and traveling. Some of his fondest memories were made traveling with Lynda, Marilyn and Steve. Among his favorite destinations were Alaska and New England.
Above all, Ken will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, story-telling and his unwavering love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Arabella of Kilgore.
