Funeral services for Cephus Lee Ferguson, 94, of Tatum, will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 19, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road. Burial will follow in Tatum Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Wednesday evening, June 18, 2003 at the funeral home.
Mr. Ferguson was born on April 1, 1909 in Rusk County, Texas to Joe. C. and Judy Ferguson. He passed away on Tuesday morning, June 17, 2003 in a Longview nursing facility.
He was a farmer and a member of a nondenominational church.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael Ferguson, one grandson, Michael J. Bass, brothers, Walter Ferguson, William Morris Ferguson and sisters, Dreby Selman, Sybil Gant Denton, and Ouida Hughes Deaton. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Edith O. Ferguson, son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bonnie Ferguson of Longview, daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Arlin Braun of Hallsville, Nakyta and Ricky Summers of Hallsville, Elva and Jay Bass of Dallas, grandchildren, Kristen Ferguson, John Ferguson, Joel Ferguson, Marc Sellers, Erin Braun, Heather Braun, Sonny Summers, Shannon Summers, Shay Faust, Taylor Bass, Kay Lee Ferguson, brother, Ralph Ferguson of Kilgore, and sister, Donnie Joe Francis of Opelousas, LA and several nieces and nephews.
