Celia Mendez
Celia Mendez, 78, of Longview, was born September 28, 1930 in San Diego de la Union State of Guanajuato, Mexico to Sixto Hernandez and Lugarda Ponce. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ascencion Mendez.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Julia Mendez and husband Jorge of Mexico City, Imelda Mendez and husband Anastacio Rodriguez and Maria Mendez and husband Felipe all of Longview, J. Cruz Mendez and wife Rocio of Longview, Jesus Mendez and wife Carmen of Hallsville, Elias Mendez and wife Belen, Jose Mendez and wife Norma, Antonio Mendez and wife Elizabeth all of Longview; grandchildren Antonio, Alonso, Felipe, Eric, Adam, Andrew, Jorge, Miguel, Sixto, Emilio, Omar, Adrian, Celia, Patricia, Cinthia, Rebeca, Laura, Ashley, Carolina, Sofia and Isabel; great grandchildren Giovani, Diego, Fabain, Armando, Jasmyn, Adam, Davion, Keenan and Jaden; brother Reyes Hernandez; sisters Sanjuana, Teresa, Natividad, and Gudelia Hernandez.
A rosary was held Friday, March 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Gavin Vaverek officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park.
