Heaven has gain another Angel. Cecil had so much love not only for his family but for those around him. This family gave us a Thanksgiving dinner I will never forget. Our first Thanksgiving in Longview. Miss my best friend his sister Betty. May you and Kay be dancing away. Margie Litterski.
Cecil was a caring man to everyone he knew. Every time I saw him he talked about his family and his love for them. May the many special memories you have sustain you in the very difficult days to come.
Cecil was part of my life and memories since I was about 10 years old. I could always rely on him for good advice and to be a good example. From our time at the dealership to his career with the Greg County Sheriff’s department, he was always around with a kind word in time of need or a word of support or encouragement as needed.
From all us us in the Buckstaff family is can say that our lives have been enriched by his presence. He will be missed.

To the family of Cecil Shelton, I worked and retired from the County, District Clerk's Office
during the years Cecil worked for the Sheriff's Office. I remember
him as one of the nicest
and most thoughtful person. And I actually talked to hiim more with his wife while seeing them antiquing. A good man! My prayers are with you all!

I was the secretary for C.I.D. A person of interest had given the Investigators a merry chase, and he was finally arrested by Smith County Sheriff's Office. On an extremely busy day at the office, one of the Investigators told me to tell Cecil that the prisoner had escaped. It worked out perfectly. I told him and then took a phone call before Cecil noticed I was lying. He immediately called Smith County raising hell. He immediately realized we had pulled a joke on him. We didn't get much time to play but enjoyed it when we could get something over on one of us. Cecil was very special person, and I loved working with him for 19 years. A number of memories come to mind when I think of him.
