Funeral services for Cecil Lee Edwards, 75, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Monday, September 13, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Cason with the Reverend Scott Darby officiating. Burial will follow in Blevins Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road.
Mr. Edwards was born on July 22, 1929 in Cason to Loyd Cecil and Winnie Lee Edwards. He passed away on Friday afternoon, September 10, 2004 at his residence.
Mr. Edwards was retired from Lone Star Steel, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cason. He was also an outdoorsman and deeply enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served his country with the United States ARMY during the Korean Conflict and for his service will receive military graveside honors.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Harold Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Edwards of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Chuck Bonham of Hallsville; one granddaughter, Haley Edwards of Hallsville; sister and brother-in-law, Juanell and Calvin Cox of Lone Star; brothers and sister-in-law, John H. and Martha Edwards of Mt. Pleasant, James Richard Edwards of Marksville, La; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM this evening at the funeral home.
