Cecil Bird Greer's Obituary
Funeral services for Cecil Bird Greer Jr. , 80, of Longview, Texas will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 28th, at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 909 Reel Road, Longview, Texas. Jeff Richardson will be officiating. Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Friday December 27th from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Cecil died Christmas Day, December 25th, at Good Shepard Hospital in Longview. He was born October 3, 1922 in Pine Bluff Arkansas. He was a member of St. Michael & All Angels church. Cecil was educated at Rice University, & Northwestern University where he completed Bachelor Degrees in Science and Mechanical Engineering. He was Director of Engineering for Bowen Tools Inc., 1947-1960 Houston; Vice-President Sales for Camco Inc. 1960-1965 Houston; President and CEO of Petrodyne Corporation, 1965-1978 Longview; President, Founder and CEO of Hydrolex Inc., 1978-1989 Longview; and Founder and president of Dynelex Engineering, 1989 to present in Longview. Cecil is survived by his wife, Paula Jean Sharpe, son Larry Greer and wife Karen, grandsons Gabe and Ian Greer; son, Spencer Greer, step daughter Lynn Greer, sisters Elizabeth Lane, Joyce Lloyd, nieces Jackie Bridges and family, Roxanne Brink and family, Lindy, Dell, Beckie and families, and various other nieces and nephews. Cecil was a community minded, loving individual and will be missed by many.
