Catherine Dobbs Pye's Obituary
Catherine Pye
Just as our God sent his own Son to this earth to live among us, and then returned Him home to heaven, we too shall be called home one day.
Catherine Pye was called by her Lord to come home on July 18, 2009, where He was waiting to welcome her with open arms. Her spirit is now free to continue to love, laugh and cherish all those she loved.
Cathy was born to David Dobbs and Wama Cody Dobbs in San Gabriel, California, on November 19, 1960. Cathy was the youngest of five children.
Even though Cathy was only 18 when she married Allan, she knew she had met her soul mate. Cathy and Allan got married in Mineral Wells, Texas, on September 6, 1978. They showed us all how love was supposed to be. Allan and Cathy stood by each others side, from her teen years to the very end, always looking out for each other with love and respect. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Daniel Allen, Joseph Cody and Tiffany Nicole Pye, whom they loved and cherished. They raised their children in Garner, Texas, moved to Oklahoma, then to Longview, Texas, where she watched them graduate high school.
Work called Allan to Louisiana, and Cathy soon joined him where they made a home in Broussard.
Her proudest moment came when she was blessed with her grandchildren and through them she passes that light of love and faith to them.
As her family and friends come together to honor her, she wouldn't want anyone to grieve her, but to celebrate her life. She believed in love, the goodness of all people and the faith of God always. Cathy has not left us – her spirit lives on within all of us who loved her. As a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother, she has given all she had and left the rest to the Lord.
She is survived by her mother, Wama and father, David; sisters, Viki and husband, Randy Anderson of Roy, Utah, and carol and husband Smokey Bennett of Mineral Wells, Texas; brothers, Randall Dobbs of Reno, Nevada, and David and wife Rhonda Dobbs of Evansville, Indiana; her sons, Daniel and Jessica Pye, Joey and Amanda Pye; one daughter, Tiffany Nicole Pye; her precious grandchildren, Colten, Landen, Evie, Jaren, Aydan and Connor; her nephews, Chris, Scott, Greg Anderson and Jeff Dobbs; and her nieces, Amanda Dobbs and Casey Lopez.
Funeral arrangements will be provided by Rader Funeral Home of Longview, Texas. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Arcadiana, Louisiana, in Cathy's name.
