Caryl Pinson's Obituary
Caryl Eva Pinson entered into our lives March 26, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana. On March 20, 2010, she went on the most important journey of her life—HOME TO HER HEAVENLY FATHER. The years in between were merely preparation for this Heavenly journey and marked by dedication, commitment, consideration, devotion, enthusiasm and faithfulness in serving her Lord and Savior.
Caryl attended school in White Oak and Longview. Fifty-one years ago, she married the love of her life, Joe B. Pinson. A daughter was born and named Eve, because she was born in the evening.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Carl and Dorothy Wallace and nephew, Shawn Hennessy.
A member of Pine Crest Bible Church for over 40 years, she was active in various church ministries: Pioneer Girls, AWANA, Women's Missionary Fellowship, Adult Choir, Ladies' Ensemble and a Southern Gospel Quartet. Her lilting soprano voice was a blessing to many as she frequently sang solos in church. She kept beautiful flower arrangements in the sanctuary for many years. Her coconut cake and deviled ham sandwiches were the first to go at church fellowships. She was a volunteer with Child Evangelism Fellowship, helping with music and teaching children.
Her favorite pastimes were growing beautiful flowers, bird watching, music, traveling and camping with Joe.
Surviving are husband, Joe, Longview; daughter Eve, Hallsville; sister, Anna Hennessy, Mesa, Arizona; niece and husband, Erin and Andy Passmonick, Mesa, Arizona; great-nephew, Drew Passmonick, Mesa, Arizona.
Home going celebration services will be held at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Interment will be held immediately following the service at the new White Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, March 22, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, Longview, Texas, P. O. Box 4075, Longview, TX 75606.
