Carson Avery Lancaster's Obituary
Carson Avery Lancaster, 82, born March 30, 1935, in Omaha, TX, passed from this life March 27, 2018, in Longview, TX, to be with his Lord and Savior. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home.
Carson worked as a supervisor for Lone Star Steel and ultimately retired from United States Steel. On December 17, 1994, he was united in marriage to Miriam Rosentrater Stanton. They attended Mobberly Baptist Church. He loved to spoil his friends and family with big country breakfasts, warm bear hugs, and hearty belly laughs. He enjoyed playing Texas 42, dancing, fishing, and traveling with his devoted wife, Miriam. His grandchildren will forever remember their dear Papa’s sense of humor and the joy they shared.
Carson was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Lancaster and Claudene Lancaster Oney, and sister, Claudia Lancaster Dodd.
He is survived by his brothers, Lawrence Lancaster (Joan) and Don Lancaster; his loving wife, Miriam Stanton Lancaster; children, Andrea, Bruce, and Michael Lancaster (Donna), JoLynn Foster (Bryan), David Stanton (Amy); and grandchildren, Michelle and Alex Lancaster; Luke, Jack, Abby, and Sam Foster; Kayla, Michael, and Lindsey Stanton.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Summer Meadows for their tender-hearted and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to HeartsWay Hospice or Mobberly Baptist Church Children’s Building Fund.
