Carolyn Oliveri Reavis Tolbert
Carolyn Oliveri Reavis Tolbert was welcomed into eternal life with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, July 29, 2003 in her home on Lake Cherokee.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 AM Friday Morning, August 1, 2003 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 2108 Ridgewood Dr., with Father Gavin Vaverek officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM tonight in the funeral home chapel, 1617 Judson Road and a visitation will follow.
Carolyn was born September 29, 1938 in New Orleans, La., and moved to Longview where she has resided since 1972.
Carolyn was strongly devoted to her Faith and spent her time serving God and various organizations of the Catholic Church such as the Ladies Guild and Altar Society. Compassionate, loving, and always optimistic, Carolyn also gave to the community for many years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Longview Newcomers Welcome Wagon, a volunteer for Good Shepherd Medical Center, the Longview Chamber of Tourism and the Garden Club. She was also active in the PTA and Band Boosters Clubs throughout her daughters? schooling.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Stephen Eugene Tolbert; daughters and sons-in-law, Cadence and Jay Morris of Houston, Danza and Terry Martin of Houston; stepdaughters, Traci and Trent Choate of Bossier City, La., Brandee and Matt Murphy of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Terry Tolbert Plunk and her husband Sam of Houston; and 10 beautiful grandchildren.
