Funeral services for Carolyn Noble Shields, 79, of Kilgore, will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore with the Reverends Bill Ingersoll and Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
She was born June 8, 1923 in Newellton, Louisiana to Dr. William and Jennie Noble. She passed away on Sunday morning, September 1, 2002. Mrs. Shields was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore.
A loving mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Davis Noble, Jr., and husband, Lloyd L. Shields, Jr. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk and Penny Shields of Longview, Forrest and Laurie Shields of Fort Worth, Lloyd N. "Sonny" and Laura Shields of New Orleans, granddaughters, Jenny Shields, Mary Shields, Carolyn Shields, Ellen Shields, Audrey Shields, grandsons, Lindsey Shields, William Shields, Kyle Shields, Stephen Shields, Stuart Shields, and one sister, Jane Noble Adams of Dallas.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to, Goodland Presbyterian Children?s Home, P.O. Box 1056, Hugo, Oklahoma 74743.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday evening, September 2, 2002 at the funeral home.
