Carole Barber Smith's Obituary
Carole Barber Smith, born March 6, 1945, passed away at the age of 79 in
Longview, TX following a battle with COPD and other health issues. She is
survived by her (2) daughters Shannon Perry and Suzanne Smith (Michael)
of Longview. She leaves behind her grandchildren Spencer Alan Smith
and Tucker Lee Smith of Longview. Carole also leaves behind nephews
Brian Barber, Barry Barber, Clay Barber, niece Carrie Miller and beloved
dog and constant companion, Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her (husband) Philip Smith, (father) Arley R.
Barber Sr, (mother) Katharine C. Barber, (brother) Arley Barber Jr., and
(sister-in-law) Cynthia Barber.
She loved Motown music, dancing, playing tennis in her younger years,
and volunteering at PGA golf tournaments in Memphis TN where she lived
for over 25 years. She moved back to Longview 6 years ago. She would
often say the best years of her life were spent at Oak Forest Country Club
and with her work family at Office World in Kilgore.
