Carol J. Worrell's Obituary
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Carol J. Worrell, who peacefully departed this life on October 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 30, 1944, in Lamar County Texas, to Frank C. and Mavis L. Jackson, Carol spent her life dedicated to her family and community, leaving a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Carol met the love of her life Johnnie Worrell, and despite his passing in 1997, she carried that love with her until her passing. Carol was a devoted mother to her children, Scott Morgan and Shanna Pitts, and her nurturing spirit will forever resonate within the hearts of her loved ones. A diligent and respected professional, Carol served as a Probate Clerk for Gregg County for over 20 years, where she exhibited unwavering dedication to her work and the people she served. Her commitment to her duties and those around her reflected her inherently compassionate nature.
Carol is preceded in death by husband, Johnnie Worrell, and her parents, Frank C. and Mavis L. Jackson. Those left behind to carry on her memory and love are her children, Scott Morgan and wife Dawn, Shanna Pitts and husband Steven, grandchildren, Taylor Wall, Laney Baker, Katie Lambert, Kyle Morgan, and Blaine Pitts, and 10 great grandchildren.
In loving remembrance, a time of visitation for family and friends will be held on October 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and a graveside service will be held at Ashland Cemetery in Diana, Texas, on October 7, 2025, at 12:30 PM. The service will be officiated by Billy Foote. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Carol’s remarkable life and to honor the warmth and joy she brought to those around her. We will come together to celebrate her memory, recalling the laughter, love, and enduring spirit she gifted to us all.
In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation in Carol’s name to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
