Carol Sue Dawson's Obituary
Funeral services for Carol Sue Dawson, age 61 of Henderson, will be held at 3:00pm Friday October 17, 2008 at The Baker Drive Baptist Church in Dickinson with the Rev. David Gatlin officiating. Burial will be at 4:30pm at the Hayes Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
Mrs. Dawson passed away Monday October 13, 2008 in a Tyler Hospice.
She was born August 29, 1947, in Texas City, Texas, she had been a resident of Henderson and Rusk County for the past eleven years. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents George M. & Norma E. Simmons, her father –in –law & mother – in –law Willis & Floretta Dawson.
Survivors include her husband George Dawson whom she married December 18, 1971 in Pasadena, Texas. Daughter Melinda Ayers & husband Shane of Texas City, Pamela Chittenden & husband Ryan of Texas City, sister Pat Norris of Pasadena, brothers Neal & Billy Simmons both of Texas City, grandsons Chase Cronkwright, , Levi Chittenden both of Texas City, granddaughters Brandy Ayers, Haley Chittenden, and Madison Chittenden all of TexasCity.
Pallbearers for the Henderson service will be Danny Davis, Roy Lee Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Jimmy Simmons, Luke Zorn, Jeremy Simmons, and Kenny Keeling. Pallbearers for the service in Hitchcock will be Chase Cronkwright, Tim Lister,
Brian Simmons, Kevin Simmons, Jeff Simmons, and Steven Simmons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Levi Chittenden and Jake Keeling.
The family visitation will be from 2-3pm before the service
