Carol Martin's Obituary
Carol Lynn (Metzler) Martin, 72 years old of White Oak, Texas passed away on August 16, 2025 at her home after a long hard fight with cancer.
She was born in Longview, Texas to Gene and Eloise Metzler. She was married to her life long partner, Jim for 57 short years. She loved studying the Bible, having lunch with friends and road trips with her husband, Jim. She was an excellent seamstress and could fix any outfit in a pinch. She also loved shopping, cooking and crafting. Carol took any opportunity possible to spend time with her grand children and spoil all of the fur babies in her family. She was retired after 25 years of service and truly loving the people at Buckner Westmindster Place.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Hilas Eugene Metzler and Mary Eloise Metzler. She is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Martin, her children Sheila Boyd, Gena Attebery (Will), grandchildren Candace Piotter (Mark), Austin Boyd (Stephanie) & Reid Boyd, and two great grandchildren, Elliana Boyd and Austin Piotter. She is also survived by her brother Larry Metzler (Nancy), sisters Kay Lewis (Larry) and Gail Baker (James) multiple nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral Services for Carol will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Thursday, August 21 at 2 pm with a visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
