Carol Coppedge's Obituary
Services for Carol Russ Walker Coppedge will be held at Ore City Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 11th at 2 pm under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Carol passed on Friday, January 6th, 2023 in Longview, TX
Carol was born on August 30th, 1946 and grew up in Hallsville, TX. She graduated from Hallsville High School as a class favorite among numerous other awards and accomplishments.
She is a direct descendent of the original founders of Walker's Mill, a community established in the 1920's in Harrison County, Texas.
Her great passion in life was music and she could often be found singing at weddings, funerals and in the church choir and praise bands on Sundays. Carol spent many years of her life as an educator at Oak Forest Montessori School, even serving as the kindergarten teacher to her two youngest children, Catherine and Dodgion.
Carol had four children, Russ Walker, Emily Walker Faulkner, Catherine Coppedge Bateman and Dodgion Coppedge. Seven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will always be remembered for her sweet soul, kind heart, beautiful voice and wonderful smile.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Elinor (Bunt) Russ, Wendell Russ and infant daughter, Ci Ci Coppedge.
