When I joined the volunteer Supervisory Committee of the Dallas Federal Credit Union (DFCU), I already knew that Carol was a kind and thoughtful lady, and then I learned how knowledgeable, giving, and helpful she was. Carol was the consummate professional: she not only knew the history and status of our credit union and the credit union movement backwards and forwards, but she willingly shared that information with her staff, both paid and volunteer, helping us learn, grow, and become independent. Of course, we were sad when she retired, but we knew she had spent years training Dee, Shelia, and Kim to continue making DFCU a thriving enterprise. I was saddened to hear of her death, and I hope the thoughts and prayers of friends and family, as well as the memory of her smile, her laugh, and the way she made you feel, will offer you some comfort during this very difficult time.
