Carl Sherman Breckel
Memorial Services for Carl Sherman Breckel, 81, of Longview will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, June 29, 2013, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 am in Tyler Memorial Cemetery. He passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Margaret's House in Longview.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Breckel was born August 31, 1931 in Mountain View, OK to William and Wilma Jane Breckel. He had been a resident of Longview since 1995. Mr. Breckel was a former resident of Hobbs, New Mexico, where he was a retired teacher with the Hobbs Independent School District. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Open Door Bible Class at Mobberly Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Winifred Breckel of Longview; his children, Carl Allen Breckel and wife Caron of Tyler, Mary Ann Crow and husband Rick of Hobbs, NM, and Kevin Wayne Breckel and wife Melanie of Hobbs, NM; grandchildren, Jessica Beener and husband Michael, Kristi Rhoades and husband Zack, Amy Beard and husband Brad, Corey Breckel, Alex Breckel, Clayton Breckel, Colt Breckel, Chisum Breckel and KaCee Torres; 8 great grandchildren; and brother, Billy Dale Breckel and wife Barbara of Tyler.
