Carl Ray Hanley's Obituary
Services for Carl R. Hanley- loving husband, father and papa- will be 10 AM Monday, December 26, at the First Lutheran Church with the Reverend Edd Wunderlich and Reverend Phil Fenton officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Interment will follow at Rosewood Park. Mr. Hanley died December 23 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Sunday, December 26, at the funeral home.
Born on July 17, 1949, Mr. Hanley attended Daingerfield High School and Kilgore College. Mr. Hanley proudly served his country during Vietnam in the Air Force as a crew chief for the C-131 and C-5 cargo aircraft while stationed in Altus, Oklahoma. He was employed as a warehouse manager for Lone Star Steel for 31 years. Always the entrepreneur, Mr. Hanley and his wife also owned and operated several of their own businesses including Brian & Scotts Snowballs.
Mr. Hanley is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ann Stone Hanley; children, Elizabeth Ann Hanley of Cameron, Wesley and Jennifer Taylor of Concord, AR., Matthew and Beth Hanley of Denison; his special granddaughter Ashley Taylor; sisters Faye Hanley, Linda Hostetter and Jane Bernard; brothers James Hanley, Dee Carrington and Perry Hanley; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents William A. and Margaret Hanley, and sister Irene Nations.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to First Lutheran Church, 3901 Bill Owens Parkway, Longview, TX 75605 or Heartsway Hospice of Northeast Texas, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX 75604. Pallbearers will be Keith Lawson, Mike Wommack, Steve Hill, James Morris, Jerry Graves, and Harold Wayne Stone.
