Carl David Akin's Obituary
Funeral services for Carl David Akin, 48, of Minden, will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, December 29, 2008, at the Rader Funeral Chapel with Revs. Toby Tipps and Haskell Lunsford officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mr. Akin died Friday, December 26, 2008 in a Marshall hospital.
He was born July 26, 1960 in Henderson to Harmon Ross Jim and Ita Elizabeth Akin. He was employed by Scan Drill, Inc. as a motor hand, and he was a member of the Minden Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife Sandy Akin of Minden; brothers, Lynn Ross Akin and wife Linda of Hallsville, Joe Leonard Akin and wife Lynn of Minden, Troy Kenneth Akin and wife Becci of Minden, and Timothy Eugene Akin and wife Candy of Minden; sisters, Bennie Elizabeth Boyd of Hallsville, Patricia Ann Hartman and husband David of Minden, Brenda Louise Richardson of Friendsville, Tenn., Lula Mae Chote and husband Ron of Minden, and Betty Jean Ponder and husband Steve of Minden; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chase Ponder, Steven Akin, Jimmy Hartman, Matt Akin, Austin Akin, Jonathan Beggerly, Keith Akin and Eric Akin. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Gill, Ray Dalton, and Melvin Shires.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 3 to 5 PM at the funeral home.
