Graveside services for Carey Rhiddlehoover, 86, of Longview will be held at Eleven O?clock AM Tuesday March 23, 2004 at the Macedonia Cemetery in Carthage with Reverend Jim Mixon officating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Rhiddlehoover passed away Sunday March 21, 2004 in Longview.
He was born November 9, 1917 in Panola County, Texas to Arthur and Margaret Rhiddlehoover. He had lived in Longview since 1958 and was retired from the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Carthage. He graduated from Carthage High School, College of Marshall and attended University of Texas at Austin. He was a lifelong musician playing the mandolin and other string instruments. Prior to World War 11 he and other Panola County musicians including Jim Reeves played together as often as they could.
He is survived by his wife, Lee of Longview; one son Carey Rhiddlehoover of Shreveport, LA.; two sisters, Betty Fowler of Flint, TX.; Margaret Hamlin of Nacogdoches, TX.; one brother, Bruce Rhiddlehoover of Tyler, TX.;
