Byron Richburg's Obituary
Byron C Richburg, 98 years of age, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on May 4, 2016, at his home in Hallsville, Texas. He was born in Turkey, Hall County, Texas on June 7, 1917, to Joshua Lee and Julia Izora Stout Richburg, the fourth of six children. He married Marjorie Mae Draper on March 19, 1939. To this union were born two sons, Dennis Byron and Billy Keith, and one daughter, Mrs. Sue Anne Richburg Price.
Mr. Richburg lived in Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas, where he worked as a Texas State Trooper, a farmer, and a veterinary assistant. Throughout his life, he was an active member of various Methodist churches, most recently First United Methodist Church of Hallsville, Texas. For the past eleven years, he has lived near Hallsville, on the ranch of his daughter and her husband.
Byron C Richburg is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Richburg and Bill and Paula Richburg; his daughter and son-in-law, Sue Anne and Rodney Price; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one brother, James Richburg.
This kind and loving man profoundly touched the lives of countless people, especially those of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Hallsville on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 10 AM with Rev. Brian Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Young-Price Family Cemetery in Hallsville.
