I want to extend my deepest sympathies for your loss. I knew Biff as a patient, the daughter of one of his patients and as a nurse. He was a remarkable man. I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved and respected him. I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write this but, the past year has been difficult for me. I lost my sweet little mom last April and i just did not take it very well. I knew Biff was really sick and knew he wouldn't be here with us much longer the last time I saw him. It was at Longview surgical associates around 2 years ago. He was working but I knew it wouldn't be much longer poor darlin was so tired.. I got to say goodbye to him and tell him then how much he meant to me . I just wanted you to know as well. We all know where he is now..there is a very special place in heaven for caring devoted people like him ..the only sorrow here is the loss our world experiences when they leave us. My deepest sympathy to all of Biffy's family. I graduated with Biffy in 1967, and he was by far the nicest and the most well respected boy in our class. I remember visiting with him when he was in the hospital and we were in the third grade. I took him red hots that I bought at the little department store located next to the Rockdale Reporter where my mother worked. As a small child I will never forget how he was suffering and how worried his parents were. We were both in Mrs. Lumpkins room in the 3rd grade, and he was always very special to me after he was burned. We were always good friends and I admired him so much. My prayers and thoughts are extended to all of you.

I am the granddaughter of Lela Viola Ferguson who was sister to Anna Lee Ferguson m. Morris Cunningham and mother of Mary Chellie Cunningham Cook---your husband's mother.My mother Wanda Jean is Mary Chellie's first cousin. She regretfully, lost touch with her cousin & is now 84, in an asst. living facility in CA where we live, and losing her memories. I have been doing genealogy research for The Goodall/Ferguson line and by shear luck, made contact with a cousin of your husband and she suggested I contact your family. She also mentioned that your husband recently died. I am so sorry for your loss.
I am trying to solve family mysteries and help preserve our family's history. I have photos of Mary Chellie and my mother and their other cousins from Hickory, OK that you/your children and your husband's siblings may enjoy seeing.I hope to hear from you, and again, I am sorry for your loss.

We were out of town at the time of Biff's passing. So sorry to hear of the news. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you. The community will truly miss such a talented and blessed man. my husband was a patient of dr. cook. my husband had a boil that got infected. and he had to have about 3 surgeries. they were done by dr. redmond. he was off work for 4 months. we were sent to dr. cook and dr. cook took over the procedure of doctoring him. we did several dr. visits. then dr. cook stitched him up. and telling us that it may not work. knowing that my husband needed to get back to work. and also knowing we didnt have any money he never charged us a copayment. well the last 2-3 dr. visits we never got to see dr. cook again. because we found out that dr. cook was sick. and we wanted to thank him for everything that he did for us. we loved dr. cook thank you so much for what you did for us. he new we couldn't afford our prescriptions and he told us that the church would pay for them. we love you dr. cook we never got to thank him. my husband is doing good. he has been back to work for a couple of years. i would like to tell the cook family how much we loved him.##imported-begin##tammy sherrod##imported-end##

Jimmy & I just heard the news of Dr. Cooks passing. Jimmy was a patient in 1993, Dr Cook literally performed the surgery that saved Jimmys life. Please know that we pray for the wings of angels to gently caress you now & always. May many memories surround you daily & make you smile knowing he is watching over you all. When the rays of sunlight break through the clouds may we all remember he is walking with God.
Dr. Cook's absence is not only a loss for family but a great loss for the medical community and the lives he touched. We hope & pray that the light he held for God was noticed & passed to others in the medical world. Dr. Cooks love, care, knowledge, & compassion for his patients as well as the future of medicine were God driven. His eye was always on the sparrow & we know God met with him with, "Well done thy good and faithful servant". We love you Dr Cook & will see you then.

Dear Suzanne, I just learned today of Biff's passing. After reading the many touching memorials to Biff, I have a new feeling of how greatly cherished and respected he was as a doctor, friend and co-worker. I loved knowing both of you at Austin College and remember with fondness the times I spent with Biff.
