Buel Raymond Meadows, Sr.
Sep 23, 1934 – May 30, 2022
Buel was born in Hammond IN, and graduated from Hammond Tech High School.
He and his wife, Gerry, both graduated from Baptist Bible Seminary before he was drafted and served as an Army Chaplain Assistant at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.
He faithfully served the Lord in the states of Illinois and Indiana for 40 years. Buel enjoyed pastoring Bible Churches in Grant Park and Crete IL as well as Talma, Kimmell and Churubusco IN. He also worked for a time as a mission representative for Spanish World Gospel Mission.
In 2005 the couple made Longview TX their home and served at Missionary TECH Team. Buel occasionally filled in teaching Sunday School at church and leading Bible studies for the residents of their apartment building until his health would no longer permit it.
Buel is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Geraldine (Welch) Meadows; their 3 sons and their wives (Buel Jr/Stephanie, Tim/Kay, Jerry/Michelle); five grandchildren (Derek, Isaac, Ethan, Chelsea, Alex) and two great grandchildren.
Buel fully embraced the abundant life offered in Jesus Christ, and helped many others do the same. His reputation and ongoing legacy is one of humility, integrity, joy and abundance, through faith in Jesus.
We grieve, but not as people without hope. I Thessalonians 4:13-18
We are confident and willing rather (that he) be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8
