Buck E. Jordan
Services for Buck E. Jordan, 80, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 4, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Mindy White officiating. Burial will follow in New Providence Cemetery.
Mr. Jordan was born March 5, 1923 in Lindsey, Oklahoma to James and Effie Jordan. He passed away on September 2, 2003 in a Longview nursing facility.
Mr. Jordan graduated from Texas A&M, he was at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and later became a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was the founder and served as Captain of the Gregg County Sheriff?s Mounted Patrol Unit.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lila Jordan; daughter and son-in-law, Diann and Larry Bennett of Longview; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Jeanne Jordan of El Paso, Mark and Debbie Jordan of Florida, grandchildren, Megan, Brian, and Shelley Bennett, Specialist Jordan Alexander, Lara Jordan, Amanda Jordan Brotini, Paul and Riley Jordan, Prissy Coston; five great grandchildren; brother, James Jordan of Marshall, Raymond Jordan of Homeland, California; sister Tiajuana Shivers of Carthage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday evening, September 3, 2003 at the funeral home.
The family invites you to come and share stories at the home of Dianne Bennett at the conclusion of the funeral services.

Those serving as pallbearers include: Brad Harris, Doogle Summers, Michael Jordan, Brian Bennett, Ray McCain, and Donnie Jordan.
The Gregg County Sheriff?s Mounted Patrol will serve as honorary pallbearers.
