Bruce P. Maurer
Funeral services for Bruce P. Maurer, 45, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Hallsville First United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Hageman officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Bruce passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 25, 1959 to Bill and Naomi Maurer in New Gretna, New Jersey. Bruce was employed by Smith Barney as a financial consultant and was an active member of the Hallsville First United Methodist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Paul and Dini Maurer, and John and Sarah Post, all of New Jersey; and mother-in-law, Margie Glezen.
He is survived by his wife of twenty four years, Melinda Glezen Maurer; his sons, Judson and Ryan of Longview; his mother, sister, Sharon Maurer of New Gretna, New Jersey; father-in-law, Tommy Glezen; brother-in-law, Scott Glezen and his wife Rhonda; sister-in-law, Sandy Boddie and her husband Charles; and nephews, Tyler Glezen, Seth Boddie, Logan Glezen, and Noah Boddie all of Longview.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening, July 16, 2004 at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart?s Way Hospice of Northeast Texas, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, Texas 75604, or to Hallsville First United Methodist Church, 1256 Highway 80 West, Hallsville, Texas 75650.
