Bruce McNiel's Obituary
A casual graveside services for Bruce McNiel will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2pm at Memory Park; a time of visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home 1pm. Bruce passed away on March 30, 2018 peacefully at his home.
Bruce was born on June 6, 1947 in Christiansburg VA to parents Charles and Francis McNiel. He competed in Wrestling and Football through high school and came in 2nd place in the State Wrestling Championship in his senior year. Bruce was a devoted father to all of his children, and no distance was too far to support them in their endeavors. In his later life, Bruce was blessed with 2 granddaughters that he treasured greatly teaching Megan to shoot at his home; and Brooke to ride horses. Bruce never met a stranger, and would be more than happy to help anybody that would need it.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Melanie McNiel, his parents, Charles and Francis McNiel, and his sister, Dinah B. Siemon. Those left to cherish their memories of Bruce include his children, Brian McNiel, Alyssa McNiel Plum, and Caroline Webber and her husband Lee Patrick; grandchildren Brooke and Megan McNiel; brother, Don McNiel; his niece Monica Robinson, and his cherished dogs, Brando and Marla.
